Cindy's interest in photography began with backpacking trips in the US. As a volunteer for various Earthwatch expeditions to Africa and South America, her passion for wildlife photography grew. Photography became a way for her to learn and understand more about the world around her and to share her view with others. After 32 years in Ohio public education , she retired to Fort Myers to be closer to some of her favorite photographic subjects. While paddling her solo canoe or hiking nature trails, she seeks to capture the essence and elegance of the many wading and shore birds here. Kenya has also won her heart. She journeys there each year to photograph its amazing wildlife, land and people. She is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) and a field contributor for Nature Photographer magazine. Recent publications include Earthwatch Institute, the Center for Rescue of Endangered Species of Trinidad and Tobago and "On Safari" by David Anderson, 2005. She has received many juried awards, including the 2006 NANPA Showcase. Please click on the images below to see a larger version
