Sea Life Christmas Tree
I have had a love of art from a very young age. I won my first art contest in the sixth grade. After school I married my high school sweetheart and 32 years later we have been blessed with two beautiful daughters and two perfect grandsons. I worked in the banking industry for many years but have always dabbled in different mediums. My friends and I would have craft days and go to ceramic and art classes at the local schools. After my girls graduated college and left the "nest" we moved from Lacaster, Pennsylvania to South west Florida in 2010.
It was after we moved to Florida that I began to focus on my art. The first couple years we were here I took art lessons in oil painting and some classes in fused glass and jewelry making.
My husband and I have always had a love of the water. We would take our children boating and skiing on the Sassafrass River and Chesapeake Bay every weekend in the summers. It was the love of the water that influenced our move to Florida. Here we can boat, fish, and collect shells all year round. I can't walk on the beach without picking up a shell. It's an addiction. After 2 years of collecting shells I had stumbled upon the Marco Island Shell Show. The moment I walked in and saw their shell creations I was hooked. I am now an active member of the Marco Island Shell Club and on the Board of Directors. I have won several ribbons and the Mary J. Ciaramello Trophy for Best Single Flower in 2014.
