To participate in an advanced class, students must have taken at least one of the beginning paper clay face or creature classes and have experience with Lenea Howe’s methods and the paper clay material.
Due to the drying time required, all paper clay classes take two days (about 4 hours each day). Students work together one step at a time to create a fantastic one of a kind piece of artwork.
All materials are provided to complete each project but students are welcome to bring their own decorative items (shells, beads, etc.) or paint colors.
Small class sizes of from 2 to 8 students insure plenty of personal assistance. There must be two or more people for a class to take place….if not...the class will be rescheduled. At least one of each of my classes is offered every month during the high season. But if the scheduled classes don’t meet your needs, I will be happy to work with you on any aspect of a class to accommodate your group of friends. These classes are just plain fun AND you will learn new skills!
In these classes you will learn:
Basic sculpture process
How to use paperclay
Color mixing and blending
Beginning decorative painting techniques
Dry Brush Technique
Care and handling of tools, clay and brushes
