Paris Milliken - Oil

"Chinese brush work is my first love, which taught me much discipline and appreciation of nature with all its inner reality, detailed form, position and spirit. With oils, I am delighted to have found a new freedom in painting. Fortunately on a personal and professional basis finding the central aspect of my work and life resolves my ability to both translate and share the beauty of nature with you."

Paris Milliken, who now resides in Punta Gorda, Florida, was born and raised in New York City. Starting at the age of ten, Paris began to study the ancient art of Chinese painting, under the private instruction of award-winning Miss Peiling Liang from 1964-1972 in the traditional Chinese mode, ink and watercolor on rice paper.

Eventually Paris expanded to a new medium, oil on canvas. Paris studied in Plymouth, Ma with Miss Doro Simone, an accomplished, professional artist and teacher for many years.

Finally, with renewed, broader momentum, Paris has continued to be devoted to landscapes, seascapes, coastlines and the islands, with a vivid color palette her signature.
