I am a retired art teacher. I received my BS & MS in art education from Buffalo State College. I taught High School art in Buffalo, NY and Morgantown, WV. It was a busy and exciting time sharing my love for art with my students and raising my 3 children. I now have 5 grandchildren to share my love of art with and time to create my own.
My husband and I moved to Florida and are enjoying the beautiful and unique wildlife around us. I have always loved being out in nature; gardening, walking, kayaking, boating and drawing & painting. There is so much inspiration in the world around us.
I have a good friend who has been encouraging me to paint on palm fronds, so when I go on my morning walk I can be seen collecting up palm fronds of all sizes to paint on. It is a new and challenging surface for me to paint on and I am loving it. The natural images and shapes in some of the fronds pop out and give me my inspiration. I love creating in all media, but this gives me a real connection with my environment.
